Anonymous asked:

why do europeans degrade plywood so much?

archatlas Answer:

Not sure, maybe because plywood is still associated with “cheap wood”, maybe is the edge that once its damaged cannot be properly repaired or maybe the aesthetics of the grain.

Maybe one of these projects can change someone’s opinion about this material:

Quick quesh, do you have any examples of social housing resolved in oddly shaped terrains?

archatlas Answer:

I was not sure if you meant a site that had an odd topography or an odd shape. Most social housing is built on sites with a regular shape or near flat terrain in order to avoid high site improvement costs. Here are a few examples that might serve as inspiration:

witchy-queer asked:

Hey Archy! This may seem a little silly, but I'm DMing two games of Dungeons & Dragons, and most of my players are artists. It's a lot of fun, but sometimes I have a hard time coming up with interesting places for things to take place as they like to draw lots of things that happen in-game. Do you have any interesting references of eco-friendly cabins or pubs? The players are going through a very Earth-Conscious town, but I'm a little stuck on how to make the area's appearance appealing to draw.

Anonymous asked:

Why are subterranean car parks so hard to design 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

archatlas Answer:

It all depends on the shape of your site and any complications attached to providing fresh air and dealing soil conditions. Keep it as simple as you can with a grid of 30′ x 60′ (6 cars) and ramped floors at 4% where you can park at both sides of the ramp.

Maybe one of these examples will help:
